Rain rain rain

The last few day have been caught in a downpour. Rain, hail, snow on the peak, it’s July, come on already. Here are a few from the staff.

It’s hot out today

Our photo intern Anthony Souffle quickly volunteered to grab his underwater housing  and head to one of the open pools to look for a weather feature. As the temperature rose to 97 degrees, he obviously picked the right place to be to stay cool.

Jordan Nielson, 3, laughs as his dad, John, hoists him into the air while the two played Monday, June 7, 2010 at Portal Pool in Colorado Springs. With temperatures soaring into the mid 90's, many local residents flocked to the few remaining pools still open due to city budget cuts. Anthony Souffle, The Gazette

Nice photo by Hal Smith of The Sedalia Democrat (MO). Anyone have any cool rainbow, lightning or other weather photos you’d share.

If so, send it to photo@gazette.com.

wolf creek

Gazette staffers David Philipps and Christian Murdock while working on a story at Wolf Creek ski area got some runs in the fresh powder Tuesday.  The ski area in the southwest part of the state received 36 inches over the last seven days, seven feet since Dec. 6 and has a base of 74 inches. Sometimes work can be fun.

Snowy and cold in December in Colorado. Go figure.
