Over Colorado Springs

September 30th, 2010, 2:30 pm by

Airshows are always cool. Acrobatics, old planes, great stories. Mark took a ride as organizers promoted the weekend’s airshow. What a great view.

Greg Poe flies his aerobatic plane over downtown Thursday, September 30 to promote this weekend's 2010 Colorado Springs In Their Honor Air Show. Poe is one of several aerobatic pilots who will be in the show Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colorado Springs Airport - General Aviation at Aviation Way and Fountain Blvd. Historic WWII aircraft, A-10 Thunderbolts and the Air Force Academy's Wings of Blue Parachute Team are those scheduled to perform. Tickets are available through TicketsWest or at the gate. Poe made a presentation to students at West Middle School Thursday and Air Force pilots with the A-10 West Demonstration Team visited children at Memorial Hospital. Mark Reis, The Gazette

Watch out for bears

September 2nd, 2010, 3:59 pm by

Another incidence of  two black bear cubs getting into a house looking for food. With winter getting closer and bears looking for food, people really need to be mindful of leaving food and garbage around that may lead bears to and into their house. DOW’s policy is to euthanize these animals once they enter into homes and become a possible danger to humans. Today Bryan and reporter Matt Steiner were at the scene up on Sanford Rd. in the Broadmoor area.
